The ICC chief executive, Haroon Lorgat, is confident that the upcoming Cricket World Cup will be corruption-free. His comments come on the back of the anti-corruption tribunal’s verdict that banned three Pakistan players on charges of match-fixing.
Speaking to the National, the ICC chief said that he is confident for two reasons. “The main one is that the vast majority of players are honest players.”
He added: “They do play the game in the spirit that it should be played. They are not seeking to make gains out of untoward means.”
